Telawah Sound is a pioneering initiative born out of the urgent need to document and preserve the great heritage of Qur’anic recitation — a legacy that has, in parts, begun to face deterioration or loss.

We were inspired to launch this initiative after observing the immense global passion for Qur’anic recitation and recognizing the pressing need for a global platform dedicated to it.

In the absence of a single international center that comprehensively and professionally documents the heritage and history of Qur’an recitation in the modern era — and given that this heritage lacks a unified global reference for documentation and study — and with the growing importance of digital content,

the need became clear to establish a non-profit institutional entity entrusted with carrying out this mission.

2. The Recitation Observatory Project:
A research and intellectual entity focused on studying and analyzing Qur’anic recitation, generating knowledge, insights, statistics, and indicators, and anticipating its future — serving as a think tank and center of expertise.

3. The Global Volunteer Platform:
An innovative digital environment that enables volunteers worldwide to directly contribute to documenting, analyzing, enriching, and facilitating access to the Qur’an’s vocal heritage.

4. Scientific and Research Projects:
Developing and implementing major specialized scholarly projects that support Qur’anic recitation and the objectives of Telawah Sound, including:
• The Qur’anic Recitation Skills Framework Project
• The Encyclopedia of Prominent Reciters Project
• The Global Atlas of Recitations Project

5. Media and Educational Programs:
Producing innovative media and educational content — such as documentaries, podcasts, interactive applications, and training materials — to spread knowledge, elevate Qur’anic appreciation, and simplify the learning of recitation sciences.
